Should I have cried?

Cooper started preschool yesterday.

He was so excited.

So was I!

I didn't cry when I dropped him off.

Neither did he.

He told me I could leave.

I celebrated a little bit.

Yes, it is bittersweet. He's my baby.

However, he is ready to have his OWN thing.

I understand being torn. My kids didn't even tell me I could leave, but considering that they took off I just kind of assumed that is what they meant. It was kind of sad.

Is he at St. John's??? How exciting his first day of preschool. That just made me sad that Jack's not there this year. They would have been in the same class. Give Nancy a hug for me! Or you can just tell her I miss her.

Meleea, that is his baby. he got it from gramma for his 2nd birthday and LOVES it! He took it that day for sharing.

Meredith, Yes he is at St. Johns. I wondered if you would recognize those cubbies! Preschool was kind of a last minute decision, I am so glad they had room! We'll tell Nancy hi.

LOVE the baby. No, don't cry- indulge for 5 minutes. Latte, mani-pedi, new magazine....

Yeah, Jonah went to MOPs today and just walked straight to his room. Same thing at AWANA- actually Libby dropped him off for me. At the same room for church we get drama. For AWANA? Nothing. Huh.

OOH, all of my kids were at church tonight. Guess what I indulged in? Bills- gotta go throw up, now.

OH WOW!
Amara starts prek on the 17th. She is the same age as Jonah- minus 2 months.
I want to cry just thinking about it. My last one in school. I know she's ready, but am I?
I hope I'll be strong like you.

Nah. I don't think crying is a necessity. I never cried with either of my kids, I think because I was too excited for them and all that they were going to get to experience away from home. If I ever felt uneasy, it was because I wasn't sure what to do with myself! Anyways, love the picture with the doll and way to go Cooper! Have a great year!

The baby is cute, but Cooper is way adorabler. I made that word up just now, just for Cooper. Adorabler.

And Cooper is the swellest name in the world.

And don't we have some BD discussing to do, Trish? Yes, I think we do.

I wouldn't have cried. I'd be singing about the happiest time of the year. Oh, wait. That is what I do :-)

The first year we took Katie to sleep away camp, I was dismissed. I wanted to cry then.

Only if it makes you feel good...but I think there are better things to cry over :-)

My dtr is 2 and so outgoing and eager to learn for her age. My hubby and I are trying to push ourselves to put her in preschool a year early. She's totally ready but we're the ones who aren't. I feel your pain and dread this day myself. Love your blog! I'm here through BATW.

you can ... but you can't stop them from growing!

BTW, did you change your blog theme?

It is bittersweet isn't it. But let's be serious...any time that we have more time to ourselves makes us happy...and when Mama's happy, everybody's happy!

i think it's perfectly fine that you did not cry.
i cry for everything but for some reason seeing my kids go off to school is not one of them.
they love it. it's a great place for them to be.

good for both of you!
