ApparEntly some people had a deprived childhood....
I have been hearing from some people in my comments asking what an
Otter Pop was.
This caught me a little off guard because I thought that everyone knew what Otter Pops were.
I guess not.
So allow me to explain:
Otter Pops are a plastic sleeve filled with a concotion of water, sugar, artificial color and actificial flavor. They come unfrozen (thus making them VERY shelf stable!) in a box:
You can then freeze any amount for later enjoyment:
These are serious summer enjoyment.
Now go buy some!

Or you can just suck it out, for a "super sugar shot!" Yes, I'm a recovering sugarholic.
Ooooo...that's what Otter pops are! Don't you love my relentless questions about this? I suppose we do have "otter pops." But they are called "freezer pops." I like your name better.
Do you think it's a regional thing? Like here...everything is Coke (even Sprite)...elsewhere it's pop...or soda...or something else...
OK..where I come from they are called popsicles or freeze pops...or sugar water...well not really...but yeah we do have them...I have just never seen a box with Otter Pops on them. Deprived. I know.
Oh and one more thing...
APPARENTLY, you and your sister are having a couple of problems spelling words in your post titles this week, ahem.....
we love otter pops - they are a summer tradition! love the pics of the boys!
Thank you miss debbie.........the english major turned accountant.
i'll go fix that now.
So that is an otter pop...I guess I always just buy the generic! =)
Thanks for the explanation!
Cheryl
I LOVE otter pops. I can't find them in Texas, the Otter brand anyway... just the generics. I miss the cute little faces on the otter ones. THe greens are my favorite. Eat one for me.
Man, and I thought we were deprived! At least I know what an OTTER pop is. Otter is the brand, folks.
And I only owned one pair of Levi's 501's in my entire life!!!
Yes! Yes! Yes! Send me your book and then we can have TWO winners and change DOUBLE the lives. All becuase of US.
Oh, and I suppose God, too.
So send it on sister. But sign the back of it first. With your name or a little note. Whichever...
Thanks for thinking of that.

UM...Kat--I am from Georgia and was raised on Otter Pops. Maybe it's a Middle Georgia thing.
Trish--we love us some Otter Pops around here. Love, love, love 'em. Now I'm off to eat a pink one and prepare for the inevitable sugar rush. Good times.
Ok, now I got to go have one too! I don't really have a favorite anymore, but Cassidy's is red and Caden's is blue. They're definitely a fun little treat! (They almost always make me cough though! They're sweetness seems to hit me just right.)
Oooooh, that's an otter pop! I know them as freezer pops. My kids are deprived they get the real fruit ones. My family has allegies to red dyes. I grew up on popsicles, when we had the money and that wasn't often.
I have eaten a whole box of them by myself before....really! They are the one thing I crave more than anything else when I have a sore throat! I can't believe there were some people who didn't know what they were!!!
Lemonade Stands- Otter Pop Stands... It's all the same around here!
Huh...we have those here in the boonies...not called Otter Pops though. I think they must be some generic knock off! I want me some REAL Otter Pops! I'm thinking you should have a contest :)
