ApparEntly some people had a deprived childhood....

I have been hearing from some people in my comments asking what an
This caught me a little off guard because I thought that everyone knew what Otter Pops were.
I guess not.
So allow me to explain:

Otter Pops are a plastic sleeve filled with a concotion of water, sugar, artificial color and actificial flavor. They come unfrozen (thus making them VERY shelf stable!) in a box:

You can then freeze any amount for later enjoyment:

These are serious summer enjoyment.

Now go buy some!

Or you can just suck it out, for a "super sugar shot!" Yes, I'm a recovering sugarholic.

Ooooo...that's what Otter pops are! Don't you love my relentless questions about this? I suppose we do have "otter pops." But they are called "freezer pops." I like your name better.

Do you think it's a regional thing? Like here...everything is Coke (even Sprite)...elsewhere it's pop...or soda...or something else...

OK..where I come from they are called popsicles or freeze pops...or sugar water...well not really...but yeah we do have them...I have just never seen a box with Otter Pops on them. Deprived. I know.

UM...Kat--I am from Georgia and was raised on Otter Pops. Maybe it's a Middle Georgia thing.

Trish--we love us some Otter Pops around here. Love, love, love 'em. Now I'm off to eat a pink one and prepare for the inevitable sugar rush. Good times.

Ok, now I got to go have one too! I don't really have a favorite anymore, but Cassidy's is red and Caden's is blue. They're definitely a fun little treat! (They almost always make me cough though! They're sweetness seems to hit me just right.)

Oooooh, that's an otter pop! I know them as freezer pops. My kids are deprived they get the real fruit ones. My family has allegies to red dyes. I grew up on popsicles, when we had the money and that wasn't often.
