Photos of our new life
Scroll down for the exciting conclusion of Our Arctic Adventure.
Cooper in front of one of the snow drifts on the way to school.
Our first family photo in the Arctic. We are standing on the Kotzebue Sound. It is a large body of water that seperates the peninsula that Kotzebue is on from the Alaskan mainland.
The ice should be breaking up soon.
Waiting for the start of the Kobuk 440; a 440 mile dog sled race that starts and ends on the Kotzebue Sound.
It's someone's catch of the day; a caribou and a sled full of shee-fish.
Taking advantage of the natural refrigeration (freezer)!
This barge travels out to the larger barge to ferry freight in.
When the sound is not frozen solid that is.
The sun already well above the horizon at 7:30am.

Oh, I am so glad I checked in on you before heading to bed. And I'd happily send you an air freshner if you want to send me your address :-)
I love all the pictures. And I can't wait to hear more about your life there. What an adventure!
Such cool pictures. Even the dead/beheaded caribou! ;)
Wow... that's just... wow.
You are SO BRAVE!!!!
oh my gosh ::brr::: so cold I could never do that!
Great to see pictures - love the self-portrait family shot and the sunrise picture. You are making some amazing strides in your faith testimony and you all look like you are very prepared for that cold weather with all of your "cold gear" - how are the boys taking in their life changes? How are they doing at school? How is your hubbies job going? How are your friendships blossoming. Maybe you need to get a new blog photo of you wearing ski goggles now or maybe just the black hooded mask with eye cut-outs - haha - just kidding - I love your goggle wearing smiling warm you picture. It is pretty cool to live this adventure vicariously through you and to say that I know someone in that area!
Just reading your post and seeing the pics gave me the shivers--in more ways than one! LOL You are certainly on an adventure!
