Junk

I've been absent.

Well, actually I've been here.

I just haven't felt like posting stuff whilst I deal with JUNK in my life.

Yes folks, it's true. I got junk.

In my trunk?

Only sometimes it slips out.

And then it makes a mess and exposes me for the fraud that I am.

I'm not really a fraud.

I am quite likely one of the most genuine persons I know.

I am who I am.

I am who God made me.

Only sometimes I forget.

I have a very wise friend who recenly shared with me a great analogy:

You see we all have this bottle inside of us where we keep our bad stuff. Some peoples bottles are bigger than others. Anyway, we take all our junk and stuff it in that bottle and then we stick the cork in it. Then we have more bad junk and so we stuff the bottle again and again. Then pretty soon the bottle is full and we just can't get the cork in quick enough after we stuff junk in there and some of the junk comes spilling out.

A couple of weeks ago my bottle was so full that the cork didn't even fit anymore.

Then it tipped over.

It made a mess.

That's okay because my God is an amazing God and he deals with my messes much better than I do.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance so also our comfort is abundant through Christ

Interesting analogy. May you find your hope in God during the crazy times.

I think my bottle is always full. And then exploding. It does get messy, doesn't it? Rhea over at Texas Word Tangle did a post today about decision making. And I tend to be rather impulsive. Which is what tends to get me into trouble.

Well, no matter the mess...I am glad to see you back!

good analogy. yes, we all have junk!! i think you are brave to let yours spill out - we can only keep it in there so long. fortunately, God knows all the junk and loves us with all of it anyway! He is sooo into you!!praying for you!

We're totally talking.

And I love this post. It's so true. I had a lot of junk spill out two weeks ago and it was a ROUGH one!! Thankfully enough time has passed to where I'm sleeping at night now. Darn that bottle.

I found peace through my mess the same way you did. Funny the things God does to make me start going to church again...OK OK I'M LISTENING!!! Sheesh...just keep the cork on that thing wouldja'??

i'm glad we can all have 'junk' together. its embarrassing when it spills but I think when we put the cork back on, we are have less 'junk' after a spill. Its a process. A hard one. praying for you.

Yeah, sounds like our junk was sloshing, seeping, and spilling at about the same time.

Well, now the bottles should be pretty empty so we can just start stuffing again. Because that's who we are. Stuffers.

I love people who admit they have a little junk. It makes my junky self feel much more comfy. Best of luck.

It is sad that we ALL feel we have to stuff it and not let anyone else know. Not good, not good.
I think your verse is the best one.
Love you beyond all you can understand

I love you - even when your junk leaks out...

Hope things are getting better.

Ah, the spills. They are messy, but you're exactly right. God is big and so much better than Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser. And when he cleans it up, He usally puts it into a much nicer bottle than the dark yucky ones we tend to keep stuff in.

Glad you let it spill and slosh. I love you!

I have to say, I'm so glad that the junk spilled out. Getting light on that junk is exactly what needed to be done. I'm sure God has the biggest smile right now as you look to Him. Love you and am praying for you!
